Picture
The History Box and Storybook are keepsakes of items, objects, treasures and tales that you and other residents of Augusta Park find special; it is yours to fill!

It will live at the Community Centre for the duration of the project. You can come and add your research and stories to it during the Augustians group sessions on Wednesdays 11.00am to 12.00pm up to 31st of May.

The box will hold objects and stories of the social history, archaeology, myths and tales of the landscape of Augusta Park.

The history box will remain at the community centre for you to add your own stories and research on history.

Can you imagine what life was like here 5 years ago? 50 years ago? 500 years ago? 5000 years ago? Research the ancient past of Augusta with the help of the Iron Age Museum and online searches and add your findings to the book.

History starts yesterday, so tell us your story; where you come from, how you came to live here…

You may wish to tell a story about living here, about your family and how you came to Augusta, about the people you meet and live with. The places you like and visit on the estate…

You could wander along the streets, pathways and open spaces and find an object, a stone, a leaf and decide to collect it to make it become part of the story of Augusta. Use the mini-sachets to record and keep them.

This box will live in the community centre where you can add your items and stories.

Building up a living memory of Augusta Park item by item, individual by individual, household by household.

Create the archaeology and history of tomorrow and add your significant objects and stories!

Photos, Items and fragments that you may have found on the ground, at the museum or during online research can be placed in here.

It was the festival of life at Augusta Park at the 900 years old tree when a volcano erupted and destroyed the other trees, except the 900 year old tree: it protected all the millions of families. One person fainted and that's the story of the last tree standing. So we have planted some more so in fifty years those trees will be very big, the festival of life continues for ever and ever so the magic only happens every fifty years. p.s. I hope you enjoy
